This remarkable Victorian pendant is full of surprises. On the front, an intaglio image of a winged Cupid holding his bow and arrow aloft is etched into blue hardstone and surrounded by warm 21K yellow gold. The pendant's shape is reminiscent of an urn or vase, complete with two curved handles. The back of the pendant features the word "Salve" in relief, and a hinge behind one of the handles opens to reveal a hidden compartment set into the back of the intaglio. In addition to being a beautiful piece, this Victorian pendant exudes elegance and mystery.
