A striking 1.38-carat Paraiba tourmaline displays stunning brilliance and color in this asymmetrical ring. The triangular-shaped, brilliant-cut Paraiba is certified by the Gemological Institute of America as originating in Brazil and being completely untreated, meaning its striking blue color is entirely nature-made. Pink and white diamonds totaling 0.66 carat complement the vivid central gemstone, and the jewels are set in classic platinum.
Only first discovered in 1989, the Paraiba tourmaline is one of the world’s rarest and most vibrant gemstones. Even rarer than diamonds, these extraordinary stones have only been found in the copper-rich mines of Brazil, Nigeria and Mozambique. It is thanks to their rare chemical composition that these gems owe their spectacular coloring and neon-bright glow that appears to light the stone from within.
