This striking 19th-century French clock garniture takes the form of a medieval castle and turrets. The garniture boasts magnificently carved detailing and architectural elements that make this set desirable, including the pair of turrets that have a central electrified lamp as well as candelabra arms. Created to be displayed atop the fireplace mantel, clock garnitures first appeared in 18th-century France. By the 1800s, their use extended through England to the United States.
