Details
At the heart of the Charm of the Hexagon lies a 23.37-carat Sasanian amethyst, hand-carved with a radiating honeycomb motif nearly 1,500 years ago, circa 4th–6th century CE. This extraordinary gemstone glows with the intrigue of Persian courts and Zoroastrian symbolism, its intricate geometric pattern echoing cosmic and solar motifs of late antique Iran.

Set in platinum, the amethyst is brought to life by designer Rebecca Rau’s contemporary vision. It is accented by a 1.11 carat untreated hexagon Montana sapphire and two E-color, VVS hexagon diamonds totaling 0.27 carat. Teal color-change garnets totaling 0.41 carat, antique baguette diamonds totaling 0.33 carat and a lustrous South Sea pearl enhance the composition. The bold forms subtly echo Art Deco geometry, creating a visual dialogue between ancient Persian artistry and twentieth-century design. Suspended from a platinum chain, the pendant unites historic significance with wearable elegance.

Designer Rebecca Rau, a fourth-generation antiquaire, is celebrated for uniting historical authenticity with modern artistry. Her THEN & NOW collection reimagines rare archaeological objects as contemporary adornments, bridging millennia of human creativity through refined design and scholarly respect for antiquity.
